If these are some of your all time faves then I would say yes.
The Transformers movies and Fight Club though look great on blu, if that helps any.

Most people will tell you everything is worth upgrading. But if funds are tight or whatever, and you have to pick and choose which ones to do, I think the best by far to choose would be Star Trek, the Transformers movies, and Fight Club.

If you are interested in better A/V quality then upgrade the ones you see the most. I have only been upgrading the ones I see have some value for me, but then again 90% of my favorite movies are not on BD, and who knows if they ever will, so I will hang to the DVD copies maybe forever.

All the bolded ones are fantastic blu-rays. Blade 1 and 2, I love, but are not available in the US. You can import them though, and Trinity is available, I think, but I don't like the movie. 28 Days Later is an ugly film to begin with, so I wouldn't want you to be surprised by how bad the transfer is. The blu-ray faithfully represents the directors intent, but it doesn't serve the blu-ray format well. If you can accept that, then go for them all!

EDIT: Blade Trinity is not available in the US either. Nevermind.

Transformers is a must!! If you can get the big screen edition for Revenge of the Fallen, get it! But either way definitely an upgrade.

I have both Transformers and Star Trek on Blu and they look and sound incredible. Plus, if you're gonna get the transformers movies, make sure to at least get the second one at Wal-mart. They have exclusive rights on the "Big Screen Edition" (aka IMAX version). The IMAX scenes in that movie are the best looking of any Blu I own, and my collection has many lookers in it

You can see how many of them look compared to the DVDs on the screencaptures of our reviews.

Since many Blu-rays have uncompressed lossless High Resolution sound (Think CD or better vs mp3 @ 128kbs quality for DVDs) and a few have more discrete channels that 5.1 that part is an upgrade too.

The Blade movies are available in Canada (search the Canada database), but 'Blade' (the first one) is not in its original Scope 2.39 ratio there. (The other 2 are)(But I think not extended versions).

'28 day's later' was shot (most of it) on a camcorder so the visuals won't be much of an upgrade, but the BD is the best version to have of the film. (the sound mostly and a few bits)

Cool ...

The Resident Evil Trilogy that I have is good (if you like all 3). Then there is the 4 movie set. I would tell you to hold off until the 5th (& maybe the 6th) movie(s) are released.

Also, There is a NEW Underworld film starring Kate Beckinsale that is going to be made soon. So The Trilogy that is available now will be incomplete (& besides Rise of the Lycans sucked). I'm happy with Underworld & Underworld Evolution. I can't watch an Underworld without Kate Beckinsale in it!!! It is like watching a Terminator movie without Arnold Schwarzenegger!!

Default blu-ray upgrade

I think I would elaborate them a bit if it helps.

Boxsets
Xmen - All worthwhile. If you are not getting box set, start with X-Men 3 (check Magneto crashed the Golden Gate bridge), X-Men Wolverine, then the remaining X Men 1 and 2.
Blade 2 - yes - the video and sound - the "high" part being the sword striking sword the clings, and a lot of actions.
Blade 1 optional - worthwhile if less than $10.
Blade 3 - movie itself criticized as less quality than blade 2, optional. I get good sound from regular DVD version.
Resident Evil - 3 and 4 - the dynamic sound. 1 and 2 so-so in both video and sound.
Underworld - worthwhile. PCM sound transfer from 1 and 2 have good bass and crisp treble.
Underworld 1 opening when Selena (Kate Beckinsale) was trying to save Scott Speedman the college med student, you gotta hide under the table during the gun fighting. I already had a Superbit version before, and the blu-ray sound came out even more enjoyable.

Underworld 3 - personally I don't like the movie itself as much as 1 and 2, so can't say much about blu-ray.

Others

Fight Club - don't own.
Sunshine - optional. It is a drama in a space ship more than a sci-fi.

Transformers 1 and 2 - definitely worth to upgrade. Much more enjoyable to see the Transformers in HD and Michael Bay likes explosive sounds.

28 weeks later / 28 days later -

28 weeks later - yes - haunting and enveloping electric guitar soundtrack, still a bit grainy.
28 days later - NO - bad transfer, just look like regular DVD.

Star Trek - okay.

Woah...where do I start? Haha.

As for Resident Evil, the AQ in the first one is great. The second one has decent audio, but not as strong as that in the first.

All three of the Underworld films look and sound great.

Sunshine is another fantastic Blu-Ray, so if you enjoy the movie I would say go for it, not 'optional'.

28 Days Later isn't a bad transfer, it's how the film looks. It's never going to look good. It's the way the director intended it to be (check the 28 Days Later thread to find the huge fight over it haha).

Star Trek is only OK? If we're talking about the new one, then I would say I think you have the movie on really low or something!!
