Default Ways of cleaning an Epson?

Hi all.

I've been thinking of cleaning the inside of my Epson HC 6500UB for a while now. The problem being i have dust blobs but all exterior ways of cleaning it has failed.

Has any of you tried this? How safe is it and how do i do it?

Or should i just live with the two blue blobs i have since they are only visible in dark scenes?

I bought my projector in the U.S. so the warranty won't work here in my country and it will cost me a lot to ship.

Thanks.

No everything internally and out. But the lightpath is sealed a lot of the way making it hard to do.

I would attempt to remove that top board and see what access that gets you.

The top board i've already tried removing. Then i removed the screws on the second smaller board below that completely. But i were a little hesitant in removing the three lcd strips as they seemed very securely fastened and i were afraid of damaging something. So i just lifted the bottom board up the best i could and sprayed underneath.

I guess i'll do i all over again this time removing the strips from the bottom board and the mirror seals i possible.

No cleaning outward or in has helped up too this point.

My only suggestion is to keep at it, you need access to the 3 LCD panels to remove what ever is on them. Believe it or not before I even got into my Panasonic I was able to look into the lens carefully and from an angle while the projector was on and see that my blob was on the red LCD panel, once I opened it up that is exactly where it was too.

At this point you have 3 options:
  • Live with it
  • Buy something new
  • Fix it or break it trying to fix it THEN buy something new
