Exclamation David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis (Short red-band teaser)

Shocked this might be a decent film with Edward Cullen in it

Looks appealing. Longer trailer will be nice to see when it becomes available.

I'm actually a bigger fan of recent Cronenberg (A Dangerous Method, A History of Violence) versus his body-horror heyday, but this has an After Hours-y, American Psycho-vibe that I can dig. Like many - most - of you I'm looking forward to this in spite of Robert Pattinson, but much like Soderbergh's recent Tatum-fix you've got to believe a great director like Cronenberg sees something in the actor that he can work with.

David Cronenberg YES
Robert Pattinson NOOOOO

Maybe Cronenberg will mindtrick us into thinking Robert is an actor.

Although to be fair, Channing Tatum makes Robert Pattinson look like Humphrey Bogart.

And I am interested to see Pattinson in a film that I acutally want to see. Like, it's easy to criticize him for being in Twilight, but I'm sure he's just doing it for the money, which I can understand. He may turn out to be a good actor in a good roll. Same thing with someone like Sam Worthington. I only ever see him in trash like Clash of the Titans or Avatar (sorry), but I do think he could be a pretty cool guy - like, I haven't seen The Debt yet, but that looks like him in a good movie, a better place to judge his acting.

This has by far the shortest plot synopsis I've ever seen on a wiki article:

Quote:
The film follows a millionaire (Pattinson) on a trek across Manhattan.
Interestingly it also says Colin Farrell was up for the role but couldn't because of conflcts with Total Recall. That's unforunate as I'd much rather have seen Farrell than twilight boy

Maybe the most captivating 34 second trailer I've ever seen. Huge fan of old Cronenberg, and this looks great.

I'm rooting for Pattinson in the same way I rooted for Timberlake before Social Network came out. If it were Colin Ferrel in the lead role, I'm not sure I'd be as excited...

Saw this trailer last night and it def looks cool!

One thing I will say that is really starting to get old & annoying, is all of crap Robert Pattinson gets simply for the fact that he was in Twilight! I can understand if you aren't a fan of the series, but the fact that he wasn't great in those movies DOES NOT mean he can't act or never will get better! I've seen the same crap said about Kristin Stewart. She was great in The Runaways & Adventureland.

It's too bad that he'll probably never get any respect here until he's in a movie that makes him cool

I give Robert Pattison flack for being a really ugly, boring Cedric Diggory. But he has been fine in everything I've seen with him in... despite the fact I never believe him as a romantic lead.
