This was a really good flick. Anton Yelchin was very well cast along with Addison Timlin. The cgi gets a touch overboard like most Sommers helmed movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. (have only read the first couple Odd books fyi)

This was a great movie. Very close to the book, which is rare!!

I used to be a huge fan of his books. But it seemed I ended up with a run of his I picked up that seemed obsessed with abused women and/or children, and really lost interest. The first Odd novel is great though. The others just ok

Feels like I've waited forever for this thing to finally come out. I'm a big Stephen Sommers fan, so I'm looking forward to finally being able to see it. A shame there are no bonus features, though. I always enjoy Sommers' commentaries, so I was hoping for at least that.
I seem to recall that Koontz said in an interview a year ago that it was the best adaptation of any of his books. He said he was absolutely thrilled when he first read Sommers' screenplay and was relieved by how faithful it was, even when it needed to make some of the usual eliminations/condensations expected for film adaptations. I watched this last night and thought it was a great adaptation. It's too bad this movie got caught up in a bunch of legal troubles and went straight to video. With the remaining books, this could have been a really good series. Anton Yelchin was perfectly cast as Odd. I wonder if this does well on video and overseas if they would even consider making Forever Odd.

Watched this last night. Huge Koontz fan so I was really looking forward to it.
It plays very close to Koontz's style right down to his dialog which was refreshing. Even though I liked the movie enough, it still seemed that it played out like a lengthy Scooby Doo episode. |
