Post BD player causing split second power cut?!

Hi,

I just took delivery of a new modded region free Panasonic BD75 - trying it out last night and twice I had two very short power cuts (everything went off for a split second, then back on again).

I'm wondering (hoping) if this is just a coinicidence, or if it could be the player? Oddly the player was the only thing that seemed to not go off, though that may be just because it uses less power than other things and it wasn't noticable.

Now, there are some reasons I think that could have caused it. Firstly, I was being lazy and just put it on top of my Onkyo surround amp - which I know gets warm and isn't supposed to be covered. Also, I had it set as region A (I'm in the UK) and I noticed that the player was set to output at NTSC, so I changed the TV system on the BD to Pal, and to convert NTSC to Pal60. Do I actually need to bother with this, I guess it's just part of the mod making the player think it's in the US. I wonder if connecting through the Onkyo and then to the TV didn't like it trying to force a convesrion to pal?! I didn't think this actually mattered on BD's.

Anyway, I intend to try again having moved the player - but I guess I just wanted to get some early re-assurance from people far more knowledgable than I am before I start worrying about sending it back!

Thanks
