Default Amazon Shipping via Prestige

I just recently ordered 5 blu-rays from Amazon for almost 60 dollars. Today they shipped my package via Prestige. I've heard they are very bad when it comes to making deliveries. I am very worried about my package. Also, if anyone ever had a package delivered by them could you tell me what time do they show up at door? I won't be home after 4 pm and I'm worried if the driver shows up later and knocks at door and nobody answers he is going to send the package back in case of signature requirement.

I've only had positive experiences with them. They normally deliver very early here, sometimes before 9am.

I've never known amazon to require a signature. In fact, I believe one of their reps specifically told me they don't. I've bought two new PS3s from them in the past year and a number of other items costing over 100.00, and none had to be signed for. They were shipped via UPS though, which leaves it up to the courier to decide on the signature. Which, in my experience, few want to bother with even waiting for you to come to the door. I've never heard of Prestige; but if they're like most of the economy services, they probably pass off the package to the USPS at some point.

I know this is an older thread but I'm actually a delivery driver for Prestige. Most of the things that we delivered are rushed packages, selected by either the purchaser or the company (who decides which company ships their product.)

I can say this, I leave my warehouse usually around 7:15 am daily. Most of my home deliveries whether it's Staples, Office Max, Amazon, etc. are usually delivered before noon and prior to my daily stops. If the customer is not home we will place it in a secure location and mark it as "released (location)" on our scanners. SOME things require signatures but that's mostly for computer equipment. Hope this helps!

Default Prestige=Crapola

My Ben-Hur UCE was delivered by Prestige last week (One Day Lightning Deal)

Left on my rear-door stoop.

In the rain.

No plastic wrap (like UPS does).

Funny thing is, this was thin enough that the driver could have left it in the screen door.

Instead, the box sat out all day, for all the world to see. Magically it wasn't stolen. When I got it open, the rain had soaked through the cardboard, but thankfully the UCE was in another, smaller box. That was just damp, and Ben Hur survived.

Another hour in the rain, and this would have been some poor Amazon CS nightmare, as I would have gone off on them.

I don't pay $79 per year for Prime to have my shipments brokered out to a company whose drivers don't have any "horse sense". Last time, it was Amazon Subscribe & Save toilet paper, and it was soaked from the rain. Got a replacement shipment, but not worth the aggravation.

Prestige is either great or crap, it mostly depends on what local branch you have and how good the people working there are. When they are good I normally get packages between 12-4. When they are bad the packages have been 1 to 2 days late (and I order with Amazon Prime so this shouldn't be happening), or in one instance the package was marked as lost, I got a refund from Amazon, and it actually arrived about 12 days later.

I always hope to not see their name after something ships. UPS is way more reliable.
