Arrow Mortal Kombat(Reboot)

Quote:
It's been years since the last Mortal Kombat movie, "Annhilation" hit box offices, and the rumored third, "Devestation" has been in the pits of development hell ever since Hurricane Katrina hit the French quarter.

Following that, Director Kevin Tancharoen created a trailer that he hoped would be strong enough to gather attention so he would be able to make his own film and re-boot the series. A pitch, essentially. Dubbed "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth," it was considerably grittier than the past two films. It didn't get him a movie, but it did inspire the web series "Mortal Kombat: Legacy," which saw himcast as director.

And it looks like NOW, he'll finally get his chance to make the movie he set out to do, and the good folks at Bloody Disgusting have given Kombateers the scoop of the century regarding the next Mortal Kombat movie.

"With Kevin Tancharoen still attached to direct from Oren Uziel's screenplay", the site writes, "we've exclusively discovered that the live-action reboot will follow a lowly unlucky supermarket employee who discovers that he has out of this world powers and must decide between good and evil, even though the evil side has helped him discover his true potential and who he really is."

It's definitely a far cry from the likes of a Shaolin monk, or Rebirth's Ian Anthony Dale as Scorpion.

Little else is known about the film at this time, though according to Legacy's fight coreographer Larnell Stovall's twitter, several actors from Legacy will return to reprise their roles, including Michael Jai White as Jax, and Darren Shahlavi as Kano.

Larnell Stovall*who was the fight choreographer in Mortal Kombat: Legacy mentions on his twitter account that Uwais, Scott Adkins, Markos Zaror, Michael Jai White*and Darren Shahlavi*are possibly the cast for the film

Hope this turns out good
