I have decided, after someone kindly pointed out my mis perception that the Denon receiver lines were non-HDMI 1.3 compliant, to buy the Denon 4308ci receiver. Of course, I walked into a couple of specialty stores and tried to "haggle" for a lower price but they all wanted above two thousand. Now, I understand MSRP is about two thousand five hundred dollars but being the shopper that I am I found a website that had the receiver for a little less than one thousand nine hundred. I mentioned this to some of the sales people and they said that those places could probably afford to do so because they are not certified resellers.
For those of you interested, here is a link to that website. http://www.fotoconnection.com/p71391...r-wifi-hd.html My question is should I care about whether or not they are an authorized retailer or not? Would not the one year standard warranty cover me if there should be any sort of defect in the model? What benefit would there be to me to pay a couple hundred extra dollars to buy from a specialty audio and video store? Your input and opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you. P.S. Just curious, anyone know any websites where I can possibly purchase B&W 680 series speakers? Would buying speakers online even be prudent? |
