I would say any of those visual documentaries: Baraka, Samsara, Qatsi Trilogy. Can't think of any more right now.

Why is that pretentious? Some people don't do well at parties, should they be relegated to "wallflower" status and have absolutely nothing to do? A good host provides entertainment for all their guests, IMO.
