I actually leapt from my chair when I saw this on the e-mail. One of my favorites of 2018.

You got me intrigued. I thought The Rider, Leave No Trace and Thunder Road were the best of 2018 (with runner-ups being Paddington 2 and a few others).
But this is starting to look like it's worth the blind buy.

Overall I thought 2018 was a pretty strong year, particularly in terms of documentaries, but this one has stuck with me. I mean, it's kind of hard to beat The Rider, but I think it's pretty safe to assume you'll like this one based on some of the things it shares with both that and Leave No Trace.

Those are all great movies, but Minding the Gap was in my top 5 for 2018. Currently streaming on Hulu.
Day one buy for me, and I never buy documentaries!

I must admit I'm a big fan of documentaries, but this like 'American Factory' were so overrated.

Such astounding news. I had been bugging the distributor for news about a Blu Ray release for ages, and figured it'd never happen. A Criterion release is so much more than I expected, glorious !

Seems like Criterion forgot to mention that there was a 2nd audio commentary with Bing Liu on it by himself.

So the Beav's review says the disc is region free, but the case says "A." Can anyone that has the disc check?

Thanks for checking. Figured it was a Beav screw up, but it is nice to have accurate info for those that arent Region A capable.

It's kinda cool that a teen could just start out filming his skateboard buddies and end up directing an Oscar-nominated documentary. Only in America, am I rite?

I really like the part in the new review where they gave this movie 3.5 stars because they think white privilege is a myth. Top shelf critique.

Also love where he ends the entire review by insinuating that single-parenthood is the singular problem with low-income/urban areas in the country and that households need a "male role model". Not tone deaf AT ALL.

I’m so sick of this.
