Samsung BDP-1200 DVD lock ups after firmware update

Is anyone else experiencing lock-ups with Samsung's BDP-1200 player while watching movies ever since the recent firmware update to allow playing of the BD+ discs? It seems to happen more often with DVDs than with Blu-ray discs, but I have experienced a few issues with the Blu-ray discs locking up too. The audio continues playing, but the video stops completely. Also, the menu button on the remote does not seem to respond at all when a BD+ disc is playing, meaning I can't skip the previews. I don't get the "action unavailable" icon that one would normally get, nothing simply happens. So far, I must say I hate BD+ discs. They take forever to load, and the menus are very sluggish and unresponsive, and the videos always start at the beginning, meaning, I can't stop a movie, then hit play again without it going back to the beginning, forcing me to fast-forward through the previews just to get to the menu to skip to the sluggish chapter selection. most other movies just pick up where they left off after pressing the stop button followed by play again.
