Default Your top 10 rock live albums?

I searched and didn't find any older thread on this, so hopefully here goes.

What are your top 10 (or 5 or 15 or whatever ) favorite live albums?

1 - 5
The Allman Brothers Band - At Fillmore East
Neil Young - Live At Massey Hall
Deep Purple - Made In Japan
Jimi Hendrix - Band Of Gypsys
Umphrey's McGee - Live At The Murat

am not sure in which order really, too tough but they all are 1-5

6 - 10
Rush - Exit...Stage Left
Peter Frampton - Frampton Comes Alive
Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band - 'Live' Bullet
Cheap Trick - At Budokan

I'm sure I'm forgetting some so I might edit later.

What about you?

This is a funny thread... how could I pick just ten?

These first few are so good that I typically don't listen to the artist's studio works any longer:

Brock Butler - Amberland 2010

Bruce Springsteen - Hammersmith Odeon, London 1975
Television - Live at the Old Waldorf, San Francisco 1978
Jerry Lee Lewis - Live at the Star Club, Hamburg 1962
Talking Heads - Name of This Band is Talking Heads
Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense
My Morning Jacket - Okonokos (their best release, but the rest of their discog demands attn too)
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live at Montreux, 1982/5

John Mayall - The Turning Point (you know how I feel about this album...)
Robert Nighthawk - Live on Maxwell Street (you need to find you a copy of this, Pat)

Neil Young - Live at the Fillmore 1969 is my favorite, also Live Rust
Alice in Chains - MTV Unplugged, prefer their unplugged sound
Frank Zappa - too many to name...
Grateful Dead - One From the Vault is my favorite...

Dave Matthews Band - Live at Piedmont Park (I was at this one...)
STS9 - Live at the Classic Center, 4/20/2011 (ditto)

The Springsteen and Talking Heads records from Wilky61's list are definitely two of my favorites as well. I'll add these ones

Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Social Distortion - Live at the Roxy
Daft Punk - Alive 2007
Pennywise - Live at the Key Club
Ben Harper - Live From Mars
The Police - Live! (the 1979 concert is way better)
Johnny Cash - Live at Folsom Prison ( and Live at San Quentin)
Van Morrison - It's Too Late to Stop Now

Have you been? It does sound like a cool place on that album, you feel the crowd close with awesome interaction between Neil Young and them. John put me on this album's track and I couldn't be happier.

Here are ten that would be on my list. I'm sure there will be others that might bump some of these, but these should still get honorable mentions at least.

1.) Waiting for Columbus - Little Feat

2.) One More From The Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd

3.) Frampton Comes Alive! - Peter Frampton

4.) Bursting Out - Jethro Tull

5.) Paris - Supertramp

6.) Band Of Gypsys - Jimi Hendrix

7.) Certifiable - The Police

8.) Delicate Sound of Thunder - Pink Floyd

9.) Welcome Back My Friends - Emerson, Lake, and Palmer

10.) On Your Feet Or On Your Knees - Blue Oyster Cult

Great list, and another Purple fan

Have you heard Dream Theaters version? Quite good also, fun to hear a concert I know so well played by other very talented musicians.

nope, have to check it out.

i do recommend those the doors live sets. many are already sold out, they are really gems !

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Doors_discography

from Wiki :

"Live in Pittsburgh 1970 is a live album by The Doors released in 2008. The concert was recorded in Pittsburgh at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena on May 2, 1970.

According to Bruce Botnick, "Jim was as clear as he could be onstage, and the guys moved to and fro with him, trusting the journey. Sometimes The Doors were raging with fire and energy; at other times, when Jim jumped into the lyric of a different song, in the middle of something else, they were right there with him."

This is part of previously unreleased material of the Bright Midnight Archives collection of live albums by The Doors."

and I like the notes on the cd`s they are excellent. the cd may not be cheap but worth the money, sit back, relax, close your eyes and your ARE there - in the doors show !
