Default Hello

Hello to all Blu-Ray forums members. I am a new member on these forums. My name is HDGamer. I was originally a member of the AVS Forums as I thought it would hold intelligent conversations and in depth imformative quality posts and discussions. I also joined there for information on the Bravia V32XBR1 hands on experiences.

However, the AVS Forums(like any other forum) soon became infested with fanboys and extremely biased posts. From words like ''completely blows away'' or ''better period'' the AVS Forum's quality has gone down. It is quiet sickening really. I am not really a internet addict, but I find the internet to pass time and offers entertaining activities.

Anyway, back to the topic. I have been reading some of the posts here on the Blu-Ray forum, and it seems like you guys are quiet intelligent posters. The mood of the forums are stable and fair, not infected with crazy, extremely biased posts and stupid claims.

So, I would like to introduce myself. Like I mentioned before, my name is HDGamer. I am extremely interested in the PS3, games, and its features(especially Blu-Ray). Before, I was never really a HD person, I never even intended on buying a HDTV until I saw the 360 on a SDTV. I also need a HDTV for certain circumstances(fitting on my dresser, flat screen actually).

Blu-Ray intriques me as it is a disc format said to take advantage of HDTVs resolution. I am not really interested in 1080p as I do not have a huge HDTV to take advantage of its high resolution. Blu-Ray mostly attracts me for its future proof features such as 50GB+ of space and the amount of movie studios that are supporting the format as well as the Blu-Ray drive in the PS3.

I am hoping that the Blu-Ray player in the PS3 will be high quality as I want a good picture. But anyway, I joined the Blu-Ray forums to get alot of informative information and nice. intelligent opinions and hands on experiences. I also like the family vibe going on around these forums.

So as I mentioned in my first paragraph, my name is HDGamer, I am a gamer who likes HD and I am intrigued by Blu-Ray, HDTVs, and the PS3. So I hope you guys will make me apart of the family.

Thats because in AVS forum there is censorship. Blu-Ray topics are deleted all the time. Their mods and admins support HD DVD and delete and censor everything wich proves that BD is better!

HDgamer I think the PS3 will be right up your alley. It won't matter whether you have a 1080p screen or not you will see a difference in movies and games because of the raw power of the PS3.

Sit back...crack a cold one and enjoy the conversation. Some of us have nothing so far<sniffle>, some of us have Blu-Ray players already and some of us have HD DVD but the common link between us all is that we love high quality movies and/or games. Welcome aboard mate.

Hey... I resemble... err... I mean... I resent that remark! (Yea that's it.)

Actually, I agree with the other posters here. This is the most level headed AV forum I've come across -- and it's not just limited to AV. And when people are asked for facts to back up their assertions and arguments most of the time people are forthcoming with those facts.

While some of us (including me) at times start shouting a bit loudly, it's a very good bunch here. Idiots and people with unjustifiable axes to grind don't last long. Either we kill them or Nyg does it for us. All hail Nyg the executioner!

I'm part of the <sniffle> crowd , as I too am waiting for the PS3. However, I'm thinking October/November will bring what has been long promised--50 GB discs, H.264 codec, better quality movies, the PS3 factor (cheap, mass consumed Blu-ray player), etc. If not, well then that's when you'll find me stark raving pissed . But until then, I'm keeping a relatively cool head about this whole HD thing. I understand that it is still quite early, and I think Blu-ray's potential will be realized toward the 4th quarter.

Anywho, welcome to the forum HDGamer!
