Does anyone know when this classic will be released on blu-ray?
I think it will be released next year (50th Anniversary), but I would like to have more information...

I hope for an exclusive steelbook release .

I don't think anyone can prompt the studios to action on any one bd movie. You can sign up on Amazon.com and get on their waiting list to be notified when this title or any other title becomes avalable. Unfortuantely, it's the best we can do. Have a great day.

Yes. From a marketing point of view releasing it sometime during 2013 would coincide with The Great Escape's 50th Anniversary but sometimes big movie studios have other priorities.

If that it is the case, then maybe MGM can lease the film to Criterion (and It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World since that turns 50 next year too and not to mention the fact that a print of that film with a runtime of 188 minutes was found sometime ago).

As has been mentioned, It's a Mad,Mad, Mad, Mad World has been out for a while and it's one of the best looking catalog titles you'll find. Get it now! You will not be sorry. The micro detail is insane.
