Titanic: 100 Years in 3D (2011) Blu-ray 3D [Region Free]

Pre-order for August 14, 2012 release.

I saw this yesterday and thought some might be interested in it. This is not the James Cameron Titanic movie. It is the History Channel special.

HISTORY commemorates the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic by presenting never-before-seen footage of the sunken vessel. It is the most in-depth exploration and detailed analysis to date, all in glorious 3-D.

If it anything like the previous History Channel's converted 2D to 3D videos, I'll pass. They have produced some pretty lame 3Ds videos.

I probably will - I love underwater 3D, it always looks so deep. Also it appears this was filmed in 3D, not converted.. Pretty sure it's going to look bad ass

I watched this with the wife the other day and we both liked it. I'm glad they had character voices describing events and feelings coming out of the left and right speakers. It was a nice touch. The 3D was solid on the underwater wreckage and the computer animation as well. I was not dissapointed.

I ordered mine from Walmart and it did not include a slip, I haven't seen this release on any retail shelves yet.

Ordered this off Amazon & it arrived yesterday. The underwater 3D is excellent. Suburb picture clarity and nice depth. An excellent companion to the upcoming Titanic 3D movie coming out in a few weeks.

And mine did not come with a slipcover. I don't know if there is one offered.

Can someone answer this question for me?I have seen London emblazoned across the life ring buoy of the Titanic many times.
Why London?I was in a museum last week in Belfast and saw this again.images.jpg
If Liverpool is not going to be on the 'rings' then Belfast at least should be,where does London fit in to all this?

It's an extra piece of cardboard that the blu-ray case slides or slips into. The artwork on the slipcover is usually the same as the artwork for the blu-ray case.

It's always the name of City its registered in. In this case The White Star Line's headquarters was in London at that time.

Am still addicted to all things 3D and picked this one up for about 15$ new here in Oz.
I really enjoy this and I love the underwater 3d effects. Top stuff.

Rented this. Enjoyed it, thought the 3D images of the Titanic added a lot, but it's only 45 minutes long with no extras so I'm glad I didn't buy it.

The 3D in "Titanic at 100" History Channel Documentary is native 3D and the quality hits you initially as presented.

Regarding Statements made from the above Promo:
"We're starting to do CSI Titanic."
Like the "Ghosts of the Abyss", the documentary fails to point out what part of the wreck they are exploring on the sea's artifact field floor, in real time, to give you an idea of where it's at and its relation to the other main parts of the ship. i.e. You get the impression that it is in one area without the assistance of explanation or diagram.

"We can start putting the ship back together" - (then showing CGI repair). Found nothing this suggests that was attempted in the documentary.

"This was a big chunk of Titanic we had no idea existed"
Didn't hear this statement or notice them pointing out the find.
Would sure be interested in what it was.

Other than the above disappointments, it was a very interesting 3D program.
