What a completely random title to release on Blu-ray... It was good for what it was, but I most likely won't buy it unless it's dirt cheap eventually. Had a nice cast though: Jane Lynch, Jeff Garlin, Steve Carell, and pre-famous somewhat simultaneous Disney era Evan Peters and Brie Larson, and also Summer Glau.

Saw this a few times recently on cable, an enjoyable flick. Wouldn't mind picking this one up on blu when it's released.

I saw this movie around 2005 when I was about 6 years old with my cousin. She loved the film and at the time I did, too! I forgot the name of the film sadly, and for YEARS all I could remember was the pink DVD cover and a scene of teenage girls at a slumber party laughing at a man’s buttcrack. Today I finally found out it was this film and looked it up and watched it!
It’s definitely a bad film, but it’s certainly not one of the worst films I have ever seen. It has the charm of a pretty bad late 90s/early 00s comedy film, which is my favorite type of bad film to watch because it brings me childhood nostalgia, but in hilariously cringey ways. The film isn’t good and probably won’t be remembered in years to come, but for what it’s worth, if the Blu-ray price drops I’ll definitely pick this one up. I have never heard of this before. So odd some of the releases we're seeing these days but glad some of the more niche/unknown stuff is seeing life on bluray! Gives me hope for all the titles still floating around out there.
Out of curiosity, I've seen a bunch of these MVD releases now but haven't paid too much attention to them. Who is their key relationship with in terms of source? |

Just watched this last night, I'm surprised to see how many people seem to love it. I didn't like it myself at all, felt like those crappy Disney Channel teen movies.
Anyway, that is just my opinion. I wanted to come here to comment on the English subtitles that are on the disc. They are easily the worst subtitles I've ever seen. First of all there is a considerable lag between the subtitles and what happens on the screen, I think it also gets worse and worse. At the end there's several seconds long lag. Also it is FILLED with typos that I cannot even fathom to understand, how they could happen. For example there's a few occasions when someone says "I", but the subtitles say "L---". Many words are completely messed up and have totally random characters in them, like back/forward slashes. There are also many spaces missing between the words. I'm sure no one did any quality assurance on this. I hope this is the only MVD title with this horrible subtitles, I have a few more coming... |
