Does anyone know if the new UK version of Total Recall includes a brand new transfer or if it is the same as the German steelbook?

It's a new transfer and a top notch one according to a review from this very site

i was reading the review posted up here on bluray.com for the new transfer and the quality sounds like its gonna be quite amazing i can't wait till it comes.

Yes i couldn't work out if it was the same, I have the Dutch steel which already had a new transfer over the previous Amaray releases. So we're saying this even has another new transfer over the Dutch and German editions.

I don`t believe to this reviewer

He clearly states that "I don't have previous DVD or Blu-ray releases of this film in my library".

He haven`t even watched it on Blu-ray before. So he`s got nothing to compare to.

IMO it has the same transfer as the Dutch (and German) steelbook edition (released 2 years ago).
I watched it about a year ago, and judging by these screenshots, they look the exactly same.

I watched it about a year ago, and judging by these screenshots, they look the exactly same.

You are completely wrong about the transfer....The one on the German steelbook is taken from the HD DVD. This one is a completely new transfer supervised by Paul Verhoeven....

+1, It amazes me how ignorant people are or they believe what they want to believe cause they dont want to buy a new copy of the film so come on here and say everyone is lying, its the same, no way could it be a new transfer etc It was announced a while ago that total recall would get a brand new director approved transfer
