The new Medal of Honor will be subtitled Warfighter and release worldwide October 23rd.

That's according to the latest issue of OXM US, which confirms the EA shooter will be powered by Battlefield 3's impressive Frostbite 2 engine.

The sequel to the 2010 reboot is again being developed by Danger Close studios and follows the story of Tier 1 Operators, the mag reports.

Giving in to fan demand, multiplayer is also being developed in house at Danger Close, and not by Battlefield house DICE.

EA will release more details at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next month.

This is great news, I LOVE Medal of Honor. I loved the campiagn as well as the multiplayer.

Campaign was fantastic, MP was too easy. I can't wait to play the SP, but I'll wait a month for the obligatory BF $30-$40 price.

even the last MoH was built off BF and it still stunk.

I would have to say nothing considering that the actual title of their series is Ghost Recon with the Advanced Warfighter tag being a sub series of the game. Also the new sub title for the Ghost Recon series is Future Solider.

I'll give it a try, but if I don't see a vast improvement over what we got with MoH, I'll be done with that series.

AI was terrible in SP
They need to vastly improve weapon rankings and not have a few guns and the only unlocks being getting to use the other teams guns

The maps were very good though, very well done.

It really would not have been a problem if Ghost Recon wasn't delayed so much

The release of Future Soldier was initially targeted for the 2009–2010 fiscal year; publication was delayed to the 2010–2011 fiscal year, and then to the "March quarter of 2011" in May 2010, and then to the April 2011 – March 2012 fiscal period.

With the horrid release they dropped on us before, I'll be passing. They hyped it up way to much and included the BF3 beta code, that's why I bought it. Absolute trash multiplayer.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier here I come.

Liked the single player and hated the mutiplayer. Came out a few months after Bad Company 2 and just ended up feeling like a scaled back version of those games with DICE making it. So happy to hear DICE won't be doing the multiplayer this time.

I loved the maps, but its clear just how sloppy the effort seemed across the board.

I'm loving this you know! Activision continues to pump out shoddy crapola like MW3 every year and the guys at EA give them a double-whammy of Battlefield 3 in one year and a new Medal Of Honor the following year. If Warfighter is using the same game engine as BF3 then i am sold! The only reason i am going back to Black Ops 2 is if it has Zombies in it. And if Activision aren't going to go the Online Pass route then i will make double-sure that my copy is 2nd hand.

Awesome! MoH challenges Treyarch head-to-head with their own covert operations game using the Frostbite 2.0 engine! That looks darker and more mature than any CoD game since WaW.
