I would secondact.com has amazing prices and they offer extended protection plans... we've bought 2 refurb tv's got my 1400$ sharp for 899 on sale ... I actually think it's better to do it that way then pay bestbuy or sony.com all that money for exactly the same thing..

Is there any downside to buying a refurbished TV?

I mean I guess you never know if your buying from an unrepeatable site but like I said you can save a ton of money if you know where your looking .. were paying top dollar to get the KDL-70XBR3 soon and probly in 6 mo youd be able to buy the same thing for like ALOT Less... if moneys an issue or you just dont feel like giving max dollar to bestbuy or something I would do it ... I used secondact.com and probly would do it again.

I love refurbished stuff. I have never had any problems with anything i've gotten. the last refurbed electronic we got was a 32'' vizio lcd hdtv. its nice enough. worth a lot more than the $400 I spent on it. i'd check out

www.buy.com
www.refurbdepot.com
or
www.shopzilla.com

Nothing wrong with refurb. I bought a Denon AVR-3300 years ago and it's still the receiver I'm using today.

The downside to refurb is the warranty is usually only 30 to 90 days.
