Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any articles/posts.
How does one build a Blu-ray PC? And is it possible? What I mean is: Is it possible to build a PC that bitstreams DDTHD and DTSHDMA or does the software have to do the decoding? Also, can it do this via HDMI? And if so how? Furthermore, how does the HDMI on videocards work?? Does it output both video and sound? In short, I'd like to know if its possible to build a PC that can output video and sound thru HDMI...and even better if it could bitstream the audio. And is PowerDVD better than WinDVD? Ok, I'll stop here or I'll just continue rambling. |

I have built A HTPC with the following specs.. Home built HTPC - Azurentech X-Meridian 7.1 sound card (I use both Optical and 7.1 analog out) - Pioneer BDC-202 Blu-ray drive - Asus 8600GT video card - Asus P5W DH Deluxe mother board - Intel Core 2 duo E6600 2.4 GHz - 3 GB of ram - 2 x 500 GB drives set up as Raid 1 (mirrored) - 80 GB OS drive - Gigabit LAN connected to 2.2 TB server - CM media 282 case Samsung LN-T5265F 52" 1080p LCD HDTV (toooo small ) Onkyo S-790 7.1 system APC 1500VA UPS and H15 Power conditioner Spacer system lighting controls (over head and behind the TV) Software Windows XP AnyDVD HD Cyberlink Ultra You can see pictures here https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=273 I think you have the most flexability with a HTPC. To date Azurentech is the only sound card (that I know of) that is comming out with a HDMI 1.3 X-tension add on card for there line of sound cards. should be out in November. This is there newest card http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-fi_prelude.php There new HDMI 1.3 add on card will look like this http://www.auzentech.com/site/produc...ension_din.php |
