Can BD players play VCDs?

I apologise if this is the wrong forum
I'm having a clearout at the moment and found I had a handful of VERY old VCD (and I think DVD though it still comes in a CD case) that I never got round to watching. Can you play these in a BD player?

The ones I found -

Kitchen
Lucky Encounter
Kidnap of Wong Zhao Fai (looks like Kent Cheng on the cover - a CAT III film)
Heroes of the Underground (Shaws)
Fight and Love with a Terracotta Warrior
The Trial
Hold You Tight

Most DVD players, yes.
Most BD players - no.
Would have to research specific models for supported formats.

I forgot about the VCD codec

I've never seen a BD player that didn't play VCD.

CD & VCD are part of the DVD codec.

And BD includes all of the DVD codecs.

So I would be surprised if it didn't play.
