Just watched this and man what a directorial debut (feature film) for Mr. Scott. Beautiful film that I believe bluray would be kind to. Hopefully we will see it soon.

I am so with you on this! An incredibly lush, atmospheric film! Harvey Keitel at his driven, uncompromising psychotic best and a great counterpoint performance by Keith Carradine. Add in gorgeous European landscapes, dashing Napoleonic uniforms and superb sword fights, all under the brilliant direction of Ridley Scott, and you have a classic just begging for a fitting Blu-Ray transfer.

Haven't seen this one yet but I'm anticipating the BD release.

I'm a huge fan of "Alien" and "Blade Runner" and have high hopes for "Promestheus" and Scott's new "Blade Runner".

Great movie;great director;great cast.Since deal has been applied between Criterion and Paramount,we only can hope that will include this movie,among the others.

I think it might actually be my favorite Ridley Scott film. If I ever reorganized my discs by director filmography it'd be great to have this puppy next to Alien, Blade Runner, Legend [and Gladiator... I guess]

Yes, this and Outland are two of my most anticipated films that do not have a release date. I'm glad to see others here like The Duellists as well.

Brilliant film, best adaptation of Conrad along with Apocalypse Now. When it came out the critics were sniffy about Ridley Scott's pedigree as a Hovis advert director and called it too chocolate-boxy. A haunting score, too

Could be but then they must be reading mine as well. I was thrilled to get Outland and have been waiting for The Duelist of what seems like ages. I never thought we would see either.

Sound good to me - I'll give you all the credit as I'm greatful to have both of these films. Now what can we come up with for next year?
