Arrow Who is getting Transformers on (HD) DVD?

Pretty straight forward question.

My brother is picking it up today as an early Christmas present for me. While I do not like supporting Paramount at this time, at least it is not my money they get. If I refuse to buy this on DVD, then I refuse to buy ANY DVD.

Feel free to post your reasons.

Won´t spend any money for the DVD version also,
I can wait...
no problem with that...

I'll wait for the Blu Ray.

Maybe,.. I'll rent and upsample the DVD in the meantime but more then likely I'll just wait for the Blu Ray.

I'll wait till it goes on sale closer to Christmas for the regular version probably. I loved it in theaters, so I'd like to own it, but I'd rather get it on Blu in x months.

Waiting till Blu ray - only format that wil do Transformers right.

The wait will be so worth it.

The problem here is that Paramount would still use the crappy DD+ on blu. HD DVD is the lowest common denominator. It is easier for a studio to release the movie with the same specs on two different formats than it is to release two formats with two different specs.

Same thing with 300. It was the HD DVD version reformated for bd. We will have to demand a "remastered Transformers", and not settle for "TransFUDers". On the plus side, due to the wait, can you imagine seeing this baby on BD100, or even my speculated BD75?

Very interesting poll results so far. I wonder how many decided on DVD when the poll reminded them that upsampling could save the experience. I hope they had the decency of putting it on DVD9 at least!

ME I VOTED FOR THIS:

"Getting the DVD: Upsampling might save the experience"

i am sending a clear message to paramount..i am not going to buy any HD DVD's to help further prolong a SO CALLED FORMAT WAR. but i find that HD DVD is not worth picking up since Blu-RAY is the DEFACTO HD Movie standard. Don't get me wrong i have nothing against HD DVD i just see no point in the format because Blu-Ray is just the better format with more SUPPORT.HD DVD is just a cut corner clone of Blu-Ray,a good format no doubt but just a lower spec. copy of Blu-Ray why buy a copy when i can buy the origional...

I am not buying it unless it's on Blu-Ray. I will DVR it when it makes it to one of the HD movie channels.

I refuse to even buy the DVD. I am not going to support 1) Toshiba getting DVD royalties, 2) hd-dvd for ANY reason, 3) a movie studio that doesn't support Blu-ray.

I hope you do not think less of me for the actions of my brother buying the DVD.

But, yes, obviously few of us here buy HD DVD. For that reason, I think we should stop calling them DUDers. They are our half brothers, after all.

Some still buy DVD, but many of us are blu-blooded converts, wether you admit it or not.

I doubt this movie is buy-worthy for me. I may rent the DVD, and if it surprises me, I'll get it when they bow to the inevitable and release it on blu.

I have one word for you... RENT
I won't buy the DVD, and I will never buy the HD-DVD. I will only rent the film on DVD sometime and probably also catch it on TV, maybe on the HD channels I have.
