Between 1894-1929 tons of silent films where made today only a handful survive becouse alot of old stock was shot on nitrate film. Also becouse studio's thought silent films had no life after its run on the big screen The largest cause of silent film loss was intentional destruction !!! Great work gone forever never to be seen again.
