YOUR favorite Actors/Actresses and what film made you connect with them*

SO before people go crazy that I made another "who is your favorite actor thread" let me get to it first. I found many threads on this subject but they were all old so I am sure peoples choices have changed over four years of cinema.

As I sat down today, watching Chinatown for the first time; I realized that Jack Nicholson had hands down sneaked his way into my top 10. I had been watching him my whole life and he just never stuck out to me; although his films did. So I wanted to sit down and do another top list of actors and wanted to see some updated community choices.

I want to see top actors alive or dead and another list for top actresses. top 5, top 10, all the way to top 100 if you feel like it lol. I also want to hear what film made you decide that "this is the actor for me".

Actors:
1: Philip S Hoffman (No bull, not being "that guy"...Mr. Hoffman has always been my favorite actor for many years now. His work in Magnolia touched me so deeply as did the film itself that it changed my tastes in cinema forever. His work has never failed to please or challenge the mind of the viewer)
2: Robert De Niro (minus his recent films this man has proven himself to be one of the greatest method actors of all time, period. His work on and behind the scenes of Taxi Driver changed the way I view the possibilities for approaching acting)
3: Michael Fassbender (12 years a slave. i have no doubt that this man will one day be known as one of the greatest actors of all time. He can excel and command in any role. Even other actors are already saying he is one of the greatest they have seen)
4: Toshiro Mifune (Seven Samurai. What needs to be said about this actor? It's Mifune... He is badass and steals every scene he has ever been in pretty much. He too is another actor that could play any role just about. He tops the list of actors in Asian cinema in my mind)
5: Daniel Day Lewis (Gangs Of New York. Daniel does not just make characters or play them; he becomes them. You believe them and never forget them. He is eerily believable as Bill the Butcher and Daniel Plainview)
6: Jeff Bridges (the Big Lebowski. Ok so not the best actor ever but he has made tons of great films and I basically feel like he is my laid back, pot smoking dad)
7: Brad Pitt (Fight Club. Ok, once again... not the best actor out there but he has the most ridiculous list of amazing films that he has been the star or support in. I seemingly own more of his films than any other actor so for that he must be on this list just like the next person...)
8: Tom Cruise (Magnolia. Ok ok ok, he is batsh!t crazy and acts like an amish kids first time in a candy store when on talks shows. All that aside, the dude makes stellar movies and has done so for many many years. He is crazy versatile, does his own stunts, and has a good eye for the right movies most the time. He has worked with Kubrick, Spielberg, De Palma, Paul Thomas Anderson, Ridley Scott, Francis Ford Coppola, Scorsese, Oliver Stone, Michael Mann, and Ron Howard... so yeah, he can act)
9: William H Macy (Magnolia, see a trend here? Magnolia is awesome lol William H macy has always been a mainstay in the films I watch so I feel he must be on this list)
10: Jack Nicholson (Chinatown, Not his best role or performance but it made me realize that he draws me in no matter what he does. He captivates me on every level and he remains to do so today)

Actress:
1: Cate Blanchett (The Aviator. Such a beautiful and powerful woman. She is capable of commanding and being strong or showing you a very weak side and completely cracking. A classic Actress in every sense)
2: Meryl Streep (Doubt. She could play the role of paint drying on a wall and make your jaw drop without you realizing it. She is insane. Just amazing)
3: Julianne Moore (Magnolia. Pretty much all my top three could be a tie for me. Julianne really is one hell of an actress but just has not quite been given the main stage or that blow out role yet to get her a larger recognition)
4: Nicole Kidman (Dogville. I just really like the bravery of some of her choices. Dogville being the stand out and her best film)
5: Charlotte Gainsbourgh (Antichrist. Another actress with huge balls lol I don't know many other women that would put herself in some of the positions of the characters she plays. She is tremendous and just kind of scary)

well love this post or hate it; i got it out of my system and it felt good lol. I would love to hear some of your updated choices.
