Great episode and it'd be my choice as well, though Two-Face's two part origin (where I first learned of the character) comes in a respectable 2nd/3rd (with Robin's Reckoning and Legends of the Dark Knight rounding out my Desert Island choices).

[Show spoiler]You can hear a long interview with "Heart of Ice"'s writer by listening to the podcast "Fatman on Batman". Even if you hate the interviewer (Kevin Smith, who interjects often but allows a wide berth for his guests to really delve), this podcast is REALLY worth checking out. He also interviews Paul Dini, Mark Hamill (a two part interview), and the voice of Harley Quinn. I've enjoyed all the TAS-oriented interviews but do have found the others have been pretty skippable and uninsightful.

That was a great episode. Another one I was a huge fan of was Joker's Favor.

I don't think there's a bad episode in the series, to be honest. I've grown to like the redesign for the Batman/Superman combo but I wish they'd adjusted Superman to fit with Batman, not the other way around.

I seriously have a hard time singling out a particular episode but I love On Leather Wings (I love the animation of Man-Bat flying), Pretty Poison, Two Face (Pt. 1 & 2), It's Never Too Late, Heart of Ice, The Cat and the Claw (Pt. 1 & 2), Beware the Grey Ghost, Joker's Favor, etc etc etc. My all time favorites are Feat of Clay (Pt. 1 & 2) and Robin's Reckoning (Pt. 1 & 2) but it's hard to pick out such great episodes when even the worst episode is really "very good".

I'd love to see Vince Gilligan write and direct the live action equivalent of B:TAS.

I think that there really are no bad episodes in this series. Even the weaker ones (which aren't many) have something to offer. I can't think of any other tv show I can say that about. Every major character was done so perfectly. To me, having grown up in the 90s this IS Batman. Love the dark deco style and the tone is just right, a show that both kids and adults can love. I also think that it should have been Superman that conformed to this style instead of Batman's animation changing. Recently I've grown to like those episodes more though.

Hard to pick favorites but some that stand out are: Almost Got 'im, Off Balance, Trial, Robin's Reckoning, The Laughing Fish, The Demon's Quest, Avatar, Beware the Gray Ghost, The Mechanic, Showdown, Terror in the Sky, Holiday Knights, Over the Edge,...

My favorite villain would probably be Killer Croc, he brought a lot of humor to the show. To this day I still regularly use the phrase "I threw a rock at him!" I love that in the episode Sideshow he really does throw a rock at him

I really love the female characters on the show. Harley, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, etc. are all classic uses of those characters.

I like the many little nods to movies and classic Batman comics. The episode "A Bullet for Bullock" features a gangster who looks exactly like Lee Marvin. "Zatanna" has a guy based on Orson Welles, another episode has a character who looks like Billy Drago. I'm sure there are other examples. In a flashback during Robin's Reckoning you can see the old style Batman symbol on his uniform.

Plus, they were all extremely easy on the eyes.

No and it's very unlikely to ever be released on Blu-ray. The animation was done very cheaply and the masters exist only on videotape.
