I loooove Matilda almost to the point of total line memorization. I truly believe that it is one of the greatest family films of all time (along with fellow Dahl adaptation, The Witches, which also desperately needs a Blu release) and it would be an immediate day one (I grew up with this movie!).

I know that this is one of Sony's big catalog sellers, so why can't it be seen in 2.35 as intended. Until then, shitty 4x3 dvd transfer here I come.

Btw, Devito must start directing more movies soon. I love his unorthodox, dark style. (Another wish list movie would of course be his best film, The War of the Roses)

i was 9 when this came out and it was one of my favorite childhood movies. and one of the few that i like just as much now as i did when i was a kid. I would love to have it on Blu Ray hopefully it will come soon.

I was 12 years old when I first saw this movie in the theater and has remained one of my favorite childhood movies to watch. However, I do hope whenever this comes out they give us plenty of Special Features with brand new interviews, behind the scenes featurettes, and deleted scenes etc.
