We can have various agreements on some of Disney's best movies, but what about those movies you feel are really bad to awful, yet get an odd feeling of enjoyment out of them? In other words, what are your favorite Disney guilty pleasures?
Mine is The Country Bears... So, recently HDnet Movies was showing Disney's The Country Bears. The last time I saw the movie was WAAAAAAAAY back in 2002 when it came out on DVD (and to think that this was the first movie in the "Disney theme park attraction" trilogy of movies that included Pirates and Haunted Mansion). I figured "Eh, why not". So I recorded it... I will confess to everyone here, the movie is a HUGE guilty pleasure movie. I mean, objectively, it is a BAD movie. The bear suits look silly in the real world, it has little to no connection to the actual Country Bear shows, and at times the humor is just plain stupid. ... And yet, I love it. I have watched it more than ten times since I recorded it off of the TV. Personally, I can't get enough of the camp value. I love that these puppet bear suits look silly, I love how it gets metafictional at times, I love how it is a HUGE cartoon movie done in live action. Hell, some of the music is pretty catchy, too! Judge me if you must... ![]() |
