Default thinking of this player(from 220 Electronics) have ?

I am confused as to if this has an ethernet port since it shows in the information and when search in google I get images of it having an ethernet port but the pics on the site doesn't show one at all so is this the legit device or what is going on here? TIA

I would believe the pics that you see at 220 Electronics as to what you will get if you buy this player from them. As to the discrepancy it is possible that this model initially had an ethernet port, but dropped it in later production runs.

The official owner's manual from LG's website does show an ethernet port, but it still could have been dropped later. I would email LG and ask them if that is the case.

I purchased two region free modified Sony BDP S6700 blu-ray players from this store and I have had no problems and no doubts as to the product's authenticity

What is the toggle to region free is an added button on the remote?

On the the Sony BDP-S6700 all you have to do to change blu-ray regions is open the disc tray and press the Yellow button on the remote control for Region A, the Blue button for Region B, and the Red button for Region C. Then insert the blu-ray disc and close the disc tray.

Region free DVD playback is automatic.

LG says it has an RJ-45 port and so does their manual. It looks like 220 is using the same back image from LG... likely an inaccurate picture.

Here's a picture from the internet showing the port.

Wonder if their may be a 'typo' or photoshop on the last photo. the Svc Code near the bar code says its a BP255 instead of BP175. Something is odd between the link in the OP and the pics on the last post. OTOH everything I can see on the 175 from multiple retailers says it doesn't have wifi -- retailer remarks and customer reviews.

I bought this unit in 2021 and it does have a LAN but no wireless connection. Take this into consideration: LG no longer makes disc players. Although inexpensive, I got tired of how to access anything via the menu which was definitely clunky. So much so that I bought a Panasonic 420P 4K player from Amazon via 220 electronics that was also All Region BR's in 2024. The Panasonic is capable of playing, for example Region B's, at 1.5X and still be able to easily hear what is being said. This is useful when the 4K disc comes with a region B disc and you don't want to watch the commentary in real time on the 4K disc. You get what you pay for.

decided to go with a Sony from their amazon account
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010EINLTY...fed_asin_title

I think I may have had a model similar to this so I am kinda of familiar with the remote and stuff but originally wanted 4k but I would have to upgrade everything so maybe some time in the future

All 4K disks are region free (with a handful of strange exceptions) so you don't need a 4K player to be region free to watch 4K disks.

The Panasonic 420/820/9000 players also have the Top Menu trick which will allow you play many, but not all, Region B BluRays without modifying the player. More info here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=375054

I have a Panasonic UB820--great 4k/BD player. And so far all the Region B disks I've tried on it have worked with the Top Menu trick.

However I've decided to buy more Region B titles that are unavailable in the US and I'll inevitably run across some the Panasonic trick won't play. So I bought the Sony S1700 from 220 electronics which I intend only to use for those Tom Menu trick hostile disks.

The S1700 is still a current model from Sony, meaning if any firmware updates are needed they'll be available (it does have an ethernet port). It's well reviewed even now. And with a 10% off coupon on their site plus free shipping, it only cost $110, far cheaper than the additional cost of getting a UB820 region that's region free.

Cheap player, but I don't intend to give it much use so should be fine.

That just appears to be the service code and all of the BD175 players being sold with back pictures available show the same service code.
