I respectfully disagree. I made a mock order and here's what happened:

-Got local taxes taken out [Since I'm in the US, other stores tack it on anyways]
-Prices are less than MSRP [Most stores in Spain stick to it]
-Shipping to the US at 14 Euros. [Before Amazon.es the LEAST I've paid has been 38 Euros for shipping alone, normally in the 42-45 Euro range]

They only need to expand their inventory and bring some older (Spanish films) DVDs that I need so I can place a large order.

For example, I am not seeing the CineEspanol titles, and I have to have the entire collection in my library

Well, i'm checking the top 100 right now and basically 90% of the films are from other countrys, good prices tho.

So i was wrong it seems, let's hope they keep these type of prices once they add more Spanish releases.

Don't get me wrong, i'm pretty excited about amazon.es; i'm sick and tired of going to Fnac or Mediamarkt (except some 3x2 or 9.90€ promotions) to find out that the majority cost around 20-30 euros (25€ = 34.50$ = 21.90GBP ) and then you see the same film (usually released earlier in US and UK) for 14.00 GBP = 16.0024€ = 22.10$.

It's all a matter of seeking for the best offer; and Amazon have my inconditional trust

Cheers!

edit: Star Wars sets:

US release: 79.99 USD = 57.97 € with English DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1

UK release: 60.00 GBP = 68.6087 € with English DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1

Spanish release: 73,99€ German DTS-HD (no English HD) :O

kinda annoying.

Amazon.es have added a container-ship load of new stuff just in the last 24hrs -a good sign things are moving quickly.

Yes, lots of other Amazon.de, Amazon.fr & Amazon.it stuff in the mix but still very well priced.

I just hope their Marketplace gets a boost because tapping into the private market in Spain would be fab as there's such great content.

Nice addition to Amazon. I'll have to do a little exploring for imports on that site.

Still too empty for my taste.

Tried to look for Dr. Slump y Arale-chan Volume 01 that Emon Entertainment released and still not there.

As in all Amazon websites they'll allow people to sell their new/used copies of the DVD's and Blu-rays?

I don't mind buying a used copy in excellent condition if it costs less than €25-€30 of Dr. Slump.

The shipping from Amazon.es is way too pricey, sure Spain's correo system isn't probably as cheap as in other countries (a friend that lives in Spain told me) but it's Amazon we're talking about.

Amazon can't risking losing clients so they know they'll have to reduce the shipping fee to a lower price, plus the product prices, too.

Update: my Shin-chan wishlist items prices have gone up, what the hell is Amazon.es, beats me, they won't make profit like this.

Flat shipping of €7,20 for the UK is an amazingly good price.

People should maybe post where they are in the world to give an idea of other prices rather than complain it's 'expensive' and leaving us all in the dark.

A lot of their stock looks like a parallel of .it and .fr and sometimes less expensive. I think they will need several months to get going. They need the Kindle system too which will bring in customers.

I'm just right (Portugal) next to Spain, like 124kmh (kilometres per hour) away (just a few hours away from Spain, that's all) and yet the shipping costs €7.38.

Importing from UK and US is cheaper than buying from Amazon.es if they keep it up with the shipping fee like that, it's not worth having Spain's Amazon online. Sure Amazon.es is still pretty new but in a month's time all this and that has to be solved.

Amazon.es just opened 12 days ago! and you guys are closing the store , the only store we can comprare is Amazon Italy that opened recently, the others are established for years, we can't compare stores in these terms, as we can see Amazon Italy gradualy added italian Blu-Ray versions, in the begging they have a lot of foreign versions, is not a new situation, so we have to wait more time to improve the catalogue, and shipping, and it will be the same at Amazon Spain.
