Default Perry Mason Collection - 72 Discs

I have often wondered why movie studios don't use blurays as a "storage medium" to cut down on the numbers of discs in a set. I mean, I would prefer to have this collection on Bluray honestly and I hope that it one day sees the light of day, however, wouldn't it behoove the studios to put these 271 episodes across say half the amount of discs that is required?

A ton of people still buy DVDs only and they want to sell to those people too. Plus the old discs are already mastered and done and just need to be pressed again.

I am currently working my way through my wife's 30-movie collection of 80s/90s Perry Mason movies, spread over 15 discs. Given that they look pretty awful (think pre-HD season of Star Trek: TNG), fitting them onto literally a couple of discs with no drop in quality would be an appealing prospect.

Have you seen all 291 of the original episodes yet?
