I really like this movie. I think it was very underrated. The direction is great and Sophia Myles and Rufus Sewell give amazing performances. I remember feeling how nice it was to see Sewell as a nice guy for a change after he had done so many villains.

I just bought that this week on UK blu ray, I only bought it because there is some sort of Celtic link to it, i've never watched it yet, I didn't like the posh Irish accent in the trailer though

Thanks for posting that. I remember that site from way back when I got the Japanese version. Nice to have the comparison. I think they are both the same sharpness wise. It really just looks like the type of difference if they were slightly different gammas. Brighter normally appears sharper, but I don't see any detail difference in those. I tend to like the deeper blacks on the Japanese edition, but of course I already own it, so I am biased

It's MPEG2 at around 17-18 Mbps, region B locked, with a few PAL extras. The Kino one seems like it would be better.

I really liked this movie when I saw it around 9 years ago so it's nice to see the great visual/audio review for it. Going to have to move it up on my pickup list.

Didn't even realize Henry Cavill was in this until I saw his name in the end credits.

Anyways, fine movie, and great transfer.
