I came across this short article and thought it was an interesting compilation of opinions on 3D from Hollywood directors.

Nice to see my favorite, Quentin Tarantino, isn't against it even though I can't imagine much of his work benefiting from 3D. As he mentioned though, Kill Bill would be nice. I don't think the whole movie would get much out of it, but the Crazy 88 and Gogo fight definitely would.

I would enjoy reading the entire interview from each of these guys. Reading snippets doesn't justify their overall opinions on the tech. I'm sure everyone's seen captions for movies where they write a small blurb from an overall take of a film from a reviewer where they only write the good parts from their review.
Like....... "The most action packed movie of the year".....when they leave out their comment that goes something like..... "but one of the most rediculous films of the year" Anyway, it's nice to see that some of the most prominent directors of this generation find something good in the tech. It's a great sign that 3D will most definitely be around (hopefully for a looong time) due to having some of the best directors on board using the technology. Having these guys conjure up some great films instead of stuff like Gullivers travels, the Smurfs, etc. will only solidify the tech even more. Haters beware ![]() |

This is a great summary, thanks for posting it BleedOrange11.
![]() I also read something similar in the back page of Total Film Magazine (UK issue in bookstore) if I have the right magazine as I was browsing. They summed up the top directors and quoted them on their thoughts of stereo 3D. Cameron's view hits the nail on the head also, as seeing in stereo 3D is an extension of most animals or people with two eyes positioned in front, side by side, just like motion, color vision and stereo sound (2 ears) for humans. By watching 2D, we're flattening out our view, as if we only had one eye. I'm not against 2D at all, but 3D, when done right, is my preference to experience the world of sight. Thanks again for posting this! Last edited by Zivouhr; 09-08-2012 at 04:13 PM. |
