Talking For the adult members, your favourite films aimed at children?

Hey all.

I was curious to know if there are many members who enjoy watching films aimed at children, when they aren't forced to watch along with their own children ? What are your favourite films, which you just like to watch for easy viewing, and maybe remind you of your childhood?

My favourites which I still watch are the original Karate Kid films, 1 and 2 (wasn't a huge fan of 3). I might also dig out and watch The Goonies, as it has been quite a while since I last saw it.

I would be interested to hear what members here still enjoy, even in their adulthood

Here's some on blu that I watched when I was young that are aimed a bit towards the younger viewer

Big
Nightmare Before Christmas
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NOT THE THIRD ONE though, )
Goonies
Secret of NIMH
Labyrinth
Short Circuit
Neverending Story
Dark Crystal
Princess Bride
Beauty and the Beast
Home Alone
Flight of the Navigator
Jumanji

On that line of "in-between" pre-teen/teen viewer and adult viewer humor/themes etc...
Ghostbusters
Back to the Future
Legend ( a wee bit dark for some more sensitive children but I always loved "dark")
Beetlejuice
Gremlins
Mrs. Doubtfire
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Ones I want on blu:
E.T.
Return to Oz
Mary Poppins
Willow
Hook
Death Becomes Her (not really aimed at kid's but I saw it in the theatre when it came out and loved it, I was 9 )
Splash
The 'burbs
The Rocketeer
Hocus Pocus
Plaines, Trains and Automobiles (there were edited versions on TV )
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Muppet Movies!!!! Only the good ones though, like the original, Caper, Manhattan, Christmas Carol, and Treasure Island

I'm going to try and pick up a few of the older films I enjoyed when I was young, and I forgot about Labyrinth and Short Circuit. Both nice films! It is hard to remember a lot of the ones I enjoyed back then, but posts like this trigger my memory.

Will add those two to my list

Yeah, I know whatcha mean....I need to look at lists and collections of others sometimes and that helps me remember too, haha And I go look though my "old" DVD collection too to get ideas and see things that I'd like to replace on blu when available. Does anybody remember the Ewok movies, haha?

Disney's Absent Minded Professor
The Shiloh films
Max Keeble's Big Move

Hahahaha, almost anything Disney for me!

I actually recently just bought Tangled 3D, and one of my friends was like "Isn't that girly..?" I just told him "Uh, it's actually funny and dude, it's a Disney movie." He kind of just shrugged it off. Popped it in, and he actually enjoyed the film!

But yeah, I'm a big sucker for Disney and Pixar movies. I have Incredibles, Beauty and the Beast, Bolt, and a few others.

Some excellent choices although Gremlins and Planes , Trains and Automobiles were definately not aimed at kids. Gremlins was rated 15 when it came out and Plains, trains im not sure but it has a barrage of F-bombs at one point in movie.lol

I like the Marvel / DC animated movies. Some are a little darker, but, my daughter loves Superhero movies. So I watch them with her all the time.

Also movies like Tangled, Shrek, and Toy Story. I like them, but, she likes to watch them beginning to end and repeat. Can't do that anymore.

We also watch cartoons together that I liked as a kid.. even though they're not on BR.. Bugs Bunny, Beetlejuice animated series, Batman, Spiderman, and things like that.

Great thread. Kudos.

Ive had a few dicussions on these forums about Pixar movies. I say they are aimed at kids which upset a few people who claimed they were "family films" just thought i would throw that out there since lots of people are naming Pixar movies in this thread

I think The Snowman is a film that encapsulates Christmas to me. I have to watch it every year.

Definitely Home Alone and the Muppet Caper. I think I like those two movies more than my little girl.
