Their way of packing is not designed for OCD collector like us. The topic has been discussed many times before. However, their customer service is excellent. I suggest that you send them an email and explain the situation you are having. I am sure they will solve your problem nicely. GL!

Shoot them an email and they will send you replacements.supply photos if possible. You not have to send back your damaged Steels...usually.

^ Don't bother calling. Email will get you the response you need. Although their packaging can be crappy their customer service is not.

Ya I always have problems too except the last 4 I got from the latest batch of Warner steels surprisingly none were dented which was the first time I received anything dent free from them.

I think they have been clattering around in this big box ?? and just damaged each other , I am reall scared about the next 6 that is due to come ??? I think I will cancell the orders and source them from the guys on here ??

Ouch, I guess that's what sucks about being outside of Canada but ya I always get forum members from Europe to pick up anything for me from Amazon since there are so many horror stories like yours

Also, they tend to send replacements before you even send them the dented ones back, at least if you're in Canada. Hopefully its the same outside the country too.

Ive never had to send my damaged steels back to amazon, and ive got plenty of them lately.
Their customer support is EXCELLENT and if they require you to send them back they handle the postagecosts aswell

Typically, if you have a damaged product from Amazon like SteelBooks, they will ask you to ship them back IF you are geographically close to them.

They usually reimburse you the shipping, so if you are ordering from Germany and live nearby in Europe, they will ask you to return the product.

If you live farther away (e.g. North America) they usually do not ask you to return the goods simply because it's not worth it for them to pay for return shipping of the damaged product. They will just send replacements.

Granted, they do this as a service to the customers. If you complain too often, you are flagged as a 'problem customer' and they will no longer send you free replacements. So it is better for you to not complain unless it is a real issue.

Seeing as this case involves a shipment from Amazon.ca to the US, I would guess that they will ask you to return the product first and they will reimburse you the shipping cost later.

I only use Amazon.ca for the free shipping and the low prices. I would not expect dent-free Steels from them. That is why I haul my butt to the stores on release day.

I (and fellow collectors on the forum here that I buy for) am willing to pay the extra $2-3 in order to pick from the best selection.

Yeah everytime I have received damaged steels from them they just send me an email stating that its just too costly to ship back so they say I can discard them. Then they re-send the shipment. So I end up with the steel that I paid for plus a damaged version.

Too bad to hear about these "shippingstories" from amazon.ca.

I've got nothing to complain about and I've ordered about 15 steelbooks from amazon.ca the last couple of years. Even though I pay for standard int. shipping they've sent all my steelbooks via DHL, Priority International Courier (averages 2-4 business days).

The packaging has been very good (I order 1 steelbook at a time though, to avoid any norwegian taxes) and I'm extremely happy with their packaging and customer service.

But, amazon.ca's packaging are nothing compared to this site's packaging: http://www.dvd-store.it/, which is extremely well, really recommendable!

Cheers,
T.

Buying from Canada is worse than playing Russian Roulette.

Luckily I have a contact that pampers me a lot. All mine are hand picked from the finest crop and packaged with the utmost care and detail.

Then the post office robs me and then customs hang me dry. You just can't win.

Only the first time will they not ask you to send them back, once each for ca uk jp de and america. After that they wont refund/replace unless you send back. My last lot from DE 66% were dented and they would not replace, even offered to send photos. Had to bin them, they were cheap Harry Potters, sending back would have cost more than just reordering.

JP has improved, they now shrink wrap the internals. Most of my dented ones come from DE.

Lucky you paide express post, otherwise you would have had to wait 3 months to get your dented steels

The best wrapping ever came from MIXUP.COM in Mexica, but there customer service is next to zero, if they send the wrong product they just say sorry...

Unless you print-off the Canada Post free return, you even have to pay to ship back here in Canada. I've never had return issues with them.

When they get your box back, you get an email saying your return will be processed and then you should get another email about your reimbursed shipping costs.

Note: When filling-in the return options, there are options to choose that will result in either you getting reimbursed or not.

All in all, I would say 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth'. They could always not ship anywhere besides Canada like FS...

appreciaye your comment mate , but lets be fair , The "Amazon" in generall would not be what it is , If it wasnt for the Sellers ?? and especially the buyers who pay through the nose some times on shipping costs !!

Ans as far as not knocking a gift horse in the mouth goes , "I will knock its teeth out !!!" ,,

If you buy a brand new Item from "any where" you would expect it to arrive in some sort of protective enclosure ?

I have never had 1 bad steel from Amazon USA and UK , and believe me I have had a lot of steels !!!!

Regardless , the stories I hear are all in the same ball park , so why dont they just put some packing in there ? It must cost them a small fortune , unless they are charging the transport companies insurance ??

I placed a 13 steelbook order back in November 2010 through amazon.ca. They sent it in a large secure box. Better yet I got the package just a few days after I ordered it.
