Default Spidey 3 ad strictly for Blu-ray

Last night on ABC Family during a commercial break for E.T. there was an ad for the Spider-Man 3 Blu-Ray coming out but the thing is it was an ad 100% for Blu-Ray as in I saw no mention of the dvd version. Is this the first time a Blu-Ray release has had this?

That's pretty cool, I've never seen an all blu-ray ad yet. It's about time though.

Disney is doing the same for Meet The Robinsons.

Nice nice. This definitely is a smart move. I wonder which format/studio is going to be the first one ballsy enough to release a new movie exclusively in high def.

Great news! I'm loving the Meet the Robinsons commercial. I think I may blind buy it just because they are doing this. Glad to hear they are doing one for Spidey too.

I too saw this a few days ago on Discovery HD. Last night I saw another commercial for Spidey 3 on DVD and BD. Disney also has a commercial for several upcoming titles on Blu-Ray including POTC 3 and Cars.

I saw a 100% blu-ray ad from Disney last night. Featuring Cars and the Rat movie. It was 100% blu folks!! They are really pushing the format now.

Probably the first studio to decide that it would no longer be a ballsy move...

I don't see this happening for a loooong time. We might see something like an "Advanced release" of Blu-rays, for example the Friday before the DVD comes out on Tuesday.

Friday DVD releases HAVE happened before, a few times, to compete with a movie releasing in theaters on that day (I think Shrek and Monsters Inc.?)

yeah for the time being you can assume everything will be released on DVD also so why not promote your HiDef format as your frontrunner and preferred choice
