Default DOOM 3: BFG Edition *ONLINE* Multiplayer/Tournament Thread

Game is released on 10/16/12. Anyone interested in a friendly competitive Multiplayer tournament? The multiplayer format we will probably use is from Doom 3.

I suppose you couldn't help but wait until the 19th for me, since it ain't out here until then.

And I guess we could have Doom and Doom II on occasion.

I may buy this depending on reviews. I've never played a Doom game so I don't know what it's about.

Really? A series that has at least one game ported to almost every format imaginable and you've never played any of them? You, my friend, are not a worthy gamer until you've played at least one version of Doom.

JHC Jayvo!!

This is one of the few games in the 90's that opened up new ideas to games out today.

When you're playing the game. You're a marine on Mars. You fight your way through hell by finding keys to gain access to the next stage. You have to survive by killing zombies, and demons etc all in FPS mode.

Multiplayer is basically just killing your online opponents or how many frags you accumulate with the most winning.

If I start playing this game and get addicted to it. I'll never finish The Walking Dead game

I'll be online after 7:00pm EST this evening if anyone wants to play. I'm still trying to get used to the controls since I was more accustomed to the PC version.

Add me PSN ID: macruz81

Does it bother anyone that (from what I've heard of) it's matchmaking only? I like to choose my own game. Not have one selected for me.

I was about to say. I think it assigns you to the first available map.

I haven't tried it, but the only way to get players you want in the same room is to invite them via PSN.

Sigh. I just wish devs followed the Warhawk route when it comes to searching for online games. Server list with ping, what's being played, how many players playing per game, hosting your own dedicated server, the works. I'm just glad that Twisted Metal has one and at least EA had the senses to have one for Battlefield 3. Hell, why not both? Matchmaking for the lazies and server list for guys who like to find their own game.

I played the game for about an hour yesterday evening. There wasn't a lot of players online so I had to constantly keep "searching" before I can play multiplayer online. It's fun when you can max the map with 4 players but since this game older, there won't be a lot of committed people playing.

I might have to focus on the actual campaign mode for Doom 3 to make my $40 worth it. I won't start the Lost Missions until I beat Doom 3, and RoE......again.

And you know what's hilarious? The game actually has a ping counter. As if that's useful when matchmaking. Sigh. They might as well go back to inputting IP addresses to get into the game with the way it's going for online gaming.

Yeah they have that. Almost like the PC version. The controls are giving me a hard time because I keep getting killed

It would be better if the boards are filled on multiplayer but it's like several people playing. Hopefully when it gets released over in the UK there will be more people online.

Well, this has been a big bust. I blame it on having only matchmaking to find games.

Yeah and there's not a lot of people that plays multiplayer for this game. I'll play it for a good 30 mins as it's still fun to me.
