Default Wireless headphones set up?

I bought a RF wireless headphones which can plug into a receivers headphone jack. I connected the transmitter thru the receivers headphone jack but I'm not getting a sound. I did not connect any speaker because I only intend to use it with the wireless headphone. Would that be the cause of no sound because there are no speakers connected? please advise, thanks

not sure if there is a button to engage the headphone jack on your receiver, but you also need to make sure you adjust the frequency band on the headphones themselves. If you don't you get no sound too.

what receiver are you using? if its an onkyo make sure hdmi audio out is turned off.

Make sure that you switch to headphones position on your receiver (depending on receiver you may already be able to hear the signal even when the speakers can be heard). Also you should switch between channels of the headphones receiver (normally there are three) but it may vary from brand to brand. It has nothing to do with the connection of the speakers.

Important: depending of the brand, model and how expensive they are (under 100 Euros), you might be unhappy with wireless headphones due to radio interferences, as well as noticeable noise background. I had (and still have 2 from Sony) but use the wired ones. Nothing beats them. Yet, didn't try very expensive models (2-300 Euros).

Hope it helps.

Does anyone know if it's possible to order headphones with varying lengths of cable? The standard length is too short for me to use.

John, you can use an RCA Male/Female cable of any length...is that what you mean?

3.5mm Audio M/F Extension Cables

Thanks gadget! I think that the RCA male/female extension is probably the easiest way to go. This way I can use my existing headphones and not have to buy new ones.

John, I can't remember, but when I was researching headphones, I cam across a company who would change out the stock cable for custom cables of higher quality and lengths. The downside was that it was not cheap. I think it was about $200 for a 15' cable upgrade. It was thicker cable and better connectors. You had the option of the small iPod style end or the standard headphone jack size.

You may want to Google it.

Default Wireless Headphone Help

I recently bought a pair of wireless headphones to use with my home theater system but I am having a problem getting them to work with my Blu Ray player. My components are as follows:

Home Theater: Panasonic SC-BTT350 (receiver is in blu ray player)
TV: Toshiba 55HT1U
Cable Box: Motorola 7232-P2 (Verizon DVR set top box)
Headphones: Sennheiser RS 120

When I plug the headphones into the cable box and mute the TV I get great sound. However, when I try to use the headphones with my DVR player I can't get any sound at all. I have tried plugging the headphones into the TV directly or into the DVR via the Auxiliary jacks but nothing works. Any suggestions? I have read things about using headphone amplifiers and/or connecting a DAC between the cable box and the DVR but I'm not sure which way to go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
