Does anyone have this?:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Sacco...Blu-ray/39232/ Amazon.it lists English and Italian audio. I found this comment on IMDB: "A remastered DVD and Bluray has been released in Italy that includes the English soundtrack. A few very brief moments are in unsubtitled Italian, but nothing problematic. There are also plenty of extras, including original newsreel footage, but these are only in unsubtitled Italian. You can get it from Amazon.it." Presuming this is correct, how good is the English audio version? And what is the picture quality like? Last edited by RDA; 09-29-2012 at 03:45 PM. |

I ordered 'Sacco & Vanzetti' in the end. PQ is very good, as it always is with RHV. The English audio version is pretty good. Some of the actors are English and sound very natural, others have clearly been dubbed by someone else. Also, it seemed to me that in a few places two different voices were used to dub one actor, which is slightly bizarre. But I guess this was done years ago, and as most of the actors are no longer alive, the audio can't be improved further. The lack of English subtitles for the passages spoken in Italian was slightly annoying. Some of what is said doesn't seem that important, but there were a couple of times it would have been very useful to know what was said. Having said that, the lack of English subtitles for the Italian sections does not prevent the film being understood or enjoyed. Bare in mind, when I'm talking about English and Italian spoken, this is all on the English audio track. Morricone's score is phenomenal (as you would expect), and overall this is a truly scintillating film experience. I'm very happy to own this release and recommend it to everyone, but I really hope someone in the UK or US releases this, with the addition of English subtitles, to improve the viewing experience, and also so that many more people can see this electrifying film.
