hell yeah. off course its expected to skyrocket. the PS2 is beating the xbox 360 in sales. imagine what the PS3 is capable of.

i live in a small town of not many people and i know about 30-40 others thats already pre-ordered it.

i know a few people that ordered it from here

i and most of the otheres ordered it from Harvey Norman. (a local electronic store)

In the UK there are virtually no shops offering pre-order. But if I remember rightly, the PS2 came out in Nov 2000, and pre-orders began in August, so next month I should finally be able to put my name down for one. I've already provisionally booked a few days off around Nov 17th...

Toys R Us Canada has had the PS3 for preorder since March IIRC.

I went into an EB Games recently, and they say they will start PS3 pre-orders in September.

i've seen both the toys r us and the lik sang pre-orders.

i guess i was just hoping for something a little more concrete than that...

what do you mean a little more concrete than that?

i went to another forum and found you can pre-order it here. it comes with 3 games of your choice as well and free shipping, etc.

did you see the price on that for a ps3 and 3 games? just over 1K! crazy! here in the states? 600 + ~$150 for games + ~$20 to ship = $770 (or $750 for in store pickup)

i'll save my $230 for alcohol

well, seeing as how sony has essentially released an msrp for the system, i would hope that either toys r us or lik-sang could quote me a final price.

toys r us would probably be the most convient for me as i'm already in canada, so i'm almost guaranteed no shipping/customs problems/charges, but there are still two concerns i have about toys r us.

1. using the exchange rate to justify a 750 or higher price tag, when, in that scenario, it might prove to be cheaper for me to order it from elsewhere, customs and shipping charges be damned.

2. using the inclusion of unspecified games i might not even want to further inflate the package price.

so, so far lik-sang looks most promising to me, because it's not a package, and the pre-order agreement seems to be more than fair to me. although the international shipping is still somewhat of a concern for me, and i would like at least some idea of a final price.

as for the link that was posted. 549 uk pounds? no thanks. granted, it will apparently output in either pal or ntsc, as opposed to only pal for the uk market, but i'm still probably going to need some kind of power converter. not to mention the fact that they can't guarantee delivery before christmas.

has anyone made a pre-order with lik-sang yet? or pre-ordered anything else? i'd love to hear your thoughts.

also, if there're any canadians who have made any large purchases from lik-sang, did you have any troubles or extra costs? i've had mixed results making various international purchases, so i'm curious to know if anyone has specific lik-sang stories.
