Default Valerion StreamMaster Plus2 Triple Laser 4K Projector supports 3D

I got this beast of a projector as it supports SBS and frame packed 3D, unfortunately no glasses are included so I haven't been able to try that functionality out yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for glasses I could buy?

The very best:

Hi-Shock from Germany (http://www.hi-shock.de)
Xpand 105 DLP (can only be purchased if you contact Xpand directly via email).

Alternatives:

Boblov (can be found on Amazon) this one has the toggle button on the glasses for left/right 3D adjustment.
Awol's generic glasses (purchase via their website).

Here is a comparison between 3 top brands.
https://www.projectorjunkies.com/3d-...xpand-vs-benq/

I have two pairs of the Xpand glasses and they are top notch and give an amazing viewing experience. However, like mentioned above, you can only get them directly from Xpand. I did that and it was a hassle. Also, with you being in the UK, get ready for some extra complications, namely customs tax, but also the glasses fall on some weird category because they have a small lithium battery inside.
So I'll be honest, if I had to buy them again, I would go for the AWOL glasses. They are readily available on Amazon, and everyone that used them is quite happy.
One pair:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AWOL-VISION-Rechargeable-compatiable-projectors/dp/B0C235Y31N
Two pairs:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AWOL-VISION-Rechargeable-compatiable-projectors/dp/B0C236RXYB
And price wise, you can get two pairs of AWOL 3D glasses for what I paid for a single pair of Xpands.

Thanks all, I have to wear them over my glasses so that's a consideration.

As I guess is the screen, I have a few but they are a pain to set up so I use the wall for convenience, not ideal. I need a tidy solution there I think.

I have glasses too and the Xpand can be a little tight on prolonged viewing.
As for screen, if you have a white wall that is pretty much flat with no blemishes you'll be ok and you're gonna have a really bright 3d image.

I got the Valerion Plus 2 in April I hate this manual keystone this projector won't even fit my 100 inch screen. You can't pull the picture all the way down to the bottom and whatever new update they had me install made the manual keystone correction worse. But besides that this is a great projector with 3D and every current 2D format but the fact I can't this screen brings it down.

There are so many options and settings but adjusting the screen size is something that has escaped me so far, luckily it seems I am close to utilising my maximum available space. I have the projector on a table mid-room pointing at the wall and can see the area it is projecting onto and then the keystone adjustment it is making within that window.

3D glasses came yesterday so I will be checking out the 3D performance later today.

I've been working with this Plus 2 projector more and I'm starting to get the picture right with the manual Keystone. Ok so I've watched 3 3D movies so far on the Plus 2 and did a picture comparison with IMAX Grand Canyon 3D watching a few chapters on my Optoma H190X projector It seems like picture of this movie on my H190X is brighter and more clearer compared to the Plus 2, It may be the way I have the picture settings I need to still work with it. But I will say I still prefer the Plus 2 over the H190X being a the features it has, a manual Keystone which the H190X doesn't even have & there's no flickering green tint during any of the 3D scenes there were many scenes like close ups or explosions which the H190X couldn't handle and would turn green with the Plus 2 I haven't had any of those issues.

I went with the AWOL glasses in the end, was going to get one pair but half the fun of 3D is watching it with someone else and there was no free postage for a single pair so I got two.

I don't like that they are rechargeable rather than being able to swap out the battery but they are comfortable enough. They don't sit over my main pair of prescription glasses very well but I have a smaller pair of glasses just for movie viewing and they fit over those fine. No problems with performance so far.

I keep mentioning that the screen on this Valerian projector during 3D doesn't turn to a green tint, I think that's called flicker in active 3D right? Unlike my Optoma projector haven't experienced that at all during any 3D film viewing on the Valerian.

No, when I take the glasses off the image looks red, which is something I wasn't expecting, but the colour reproduction with the glasses on is exactly as it should be.

it caught me off guard too (i have an UST) but the red tint on 3D mode is part of the DLP link process.

That red tint is the actual signal flashing that synchronises the glasses to the projector and allow for pretty much flawless 3D on dlp projectors. But it isn't always red. On my Benq, the signal flashing is green.

Never got your opinion on what you think of the 3D of this projector, I honestly think it is amazing would love to hear your view on it.

The 3D is excellent, better than on my TV. Pop outs are cinema quality. I'm not even watching on a screen, I'm projecting straight onto the wall.

Red IMHO is the best for the DLPLink flash signal at least as implemented in AWOL/Valerion, looks like it can run at low brightness levels to avoid interfering with the 3D content itself (pretty sure the sensors in the glasses also pick up Red much more easily). I saw another projector using bright Green which was the worst colour possible as it bled through the 3D DLPLink glasses and it's also the colour humans are most sensitive to seeing so the 3D was barely watchable. How bright is the Green signal on the Benq - the same as the Valerion or brighter?

I would say the green flashing is visibly bright, but you only see it when you remove the glasses, otherwise the image is pretty much flawless. It might have something with DMD size. My Projector has a .65" dlp chip, and the other ones you mention all use a .47" chip.

The most unusual effect I am noticing (in 2D) is brief green and red flare-type flashes sometimes when I am blinking but every display has its own peculiarities and it's not enough to bother me.

In 3D now I have hooked up my old LG player again as I don't want to use my Sony player for anything other than Region A and 4K playback.

That might be the dreaded rainbow effect, that some people experience.
