Ive been wanting to increase bass efficiency in my room for the past year.
and havent had the time do do so. could someone give me some pointers or suggestions on what i need? I have 3 walls in this HT room, and the one side is open, where i beleive my bass is lost. There is also no carpet in the room and it doesnt help it. I know my sub is suffienct to hit pretty hard. Anyone have suggestions? I have attached the link to my HT room. https://www.blu-ray.com/community/ga...mber=dunkman23 |

Hey Dunkman, you have a nice looking room. First you need a area rug, go to http://www.atsacoustics.com/ for some acoustic panels the microsuede are nice, for the upper corners these are nice http://www.musiciansfriend.com/acces...trap--set-of-2. As for your open floor plan you can try to get some heavy curtains that you can close off the room when using it then retract them when you are not, they will also help knocking down some of the echo. Good luck. Here I block off my kitchen and hallway when I am using the room then retract them when I am done.

From my understanding, bass traps actually absorb certain frequencies to help you get a more controlled, tighter sound, but will not help to increase output, and might even slightly reduce overall perceived bass output. I agree with Fat Bill. Another matching sub would definitely fill the bass in the room out better and give you a better overall balanced sound.

I bought the corner traps from Acoustimac (first one on BD's list). I'll let you know how they work out.

Have you used any software to measure and plot your room frequencies? I would be curious to see what your chart looked like in the 35-55 Hz range.

![]() So if I buy two, I just place in the rear or front corners ? In my HT room it also appears to me that some of the bass is stronger on the outside of the room than in it !! Thanks |
