WBShop Tim Burton Collection from WB

The Tim Burton Collection Blu-ray

Pre-Order for $41.99 (at time of posting)

Contains Beetlejuice, Batman, Mars Attacks!, Batman Returns, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Corpse Bride. Also contains a book.

Looks interesting for anyone who doesn't already own these, and it seems to be at a good price.

Note that various Burton films aren't included since this is a WB set.

ALSO: This is an Amazon.com exclusive.

Pretty good assortment, and a very good value too considering the book. I'd rather they took out Batman Returns and put in Edward Scissorhands though, just to get more variety.

interesting.

Recently been watching his movies from his early like pee wee and beetlejuice to alice in wonderland. it was interesting to see his early stuff and later stuff. I had not seen his early stuff in a while. he is one of my favorite directors. the only title that I was missing was mars attacks.

That's weird, as Returns has Burton all over it. Its much more a "Burton" film than the first Batman.

tim burton directed both batman and batman returns. he does get an unofficial producer credit on batman forever. he had nothing to do with it.

since this is a thread about tim. what is everyone favorite film of his? it doesn't have to be just with the warner bros titles.

it was interesting to watch his early stuff. I notice how he matured as a director with each film. surprising I found that beetlejuice still hold up very well with the special effects.

Currently Batman but I'd love for Dark Shadows to change that.

I'd rather get Ed Wood on Blu Ray instead of more double-dipping...

The first two Batman films and Sweeney Todd are just about even as my favorites. I own Ed Wood on DVD and still haven't watched it. I've had it for years! I only mention it because it's one of his best reviewed films. I need to check it out.

Love most of his work. Of those that I love, I really love, so it's difficult to pick just one. So today, picking one film to be able to watch for the rest of my life (think DesertIslandDisc):

Mars Attacks! --- I never tire of this film. So ridiculous and funny.
Nyak.

Big Fish a close runner up...followed by the very charming Corpse Bride.

I haven't seen Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Batman, Batman Returns, Sleepy Hollow, or Planet of the Apes. My favorites are definitely Vincent, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Big Fish, and Sweeney Todd. Beetlejuice and The Corpse Bride are also good, but nowhere near my favorites. Frankenweenie, Mars Attacks!, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Alice in Wonderland were all mediocre.

Warner Bros. re-packaging their Burton films into a box set has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH A DISNEY-OWNED MOVIE.

Ed Wood is a movie directed by Tim Burton that is not yet on Blu Ray. I was under the impression we were discussing this new collection of movies already available. He should get on that.

It's from Touchstone. Ed Wood is as much a Disney film as The Insider by Michael Mann.

Touchstone Pictures = Subsidiary of Walt Disney Pictures

The person above never said it was a "Disney Film", just that they owns it, which is completely accurate. Since this is a WB release it wouldn't make sense for their to be a Disney owned movie inside it would there? I made a similar same mistake above with the Fox owned Edward Scissorhands as I totally missed the Warner part at first.

SAME HERE!

They really need to release Ed Wood on Blu-ray-- regardless of which studio "owns" it. But I remember there was a long wait for its DVD release too.
