Default If you had give up all of your Blu-rays or DVDs...

Which would it be? I know a number of people here have large DVD collections in addition to blu-rays. If you had to give up one format or the other, which would you give up?

Clearly being DVD.com, everyone will part with their Blu-rays.

I'd give up the life of whoever dared to take my movies.

Not really. There are a ton of titles on DVD that aren't yet available on blu-ray. Despite blu-ray being a superior format in every conceivable way, I'm not sure that I would choose it over DVD simply because there are so many favorites of mine that aren't yet available on blu-ray. I don't buy anything but blu-rays now (unless the movie isn't available on DVD).

This thread isn't intended to rile up those who have gotten rid of all their DVDs; it's an honest question to blu-ray collectors who still have a number of DVDs for various reasons. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Dvd's are those free things that come with some of my blu-rays right?

In seriousness, I'd probably give up blu as so many favorites are only on dvd and might never come to blu. Thankfully this won't happen. Put a gun to my head and I'll try to take it from you!

I'd give up the DVDs, but I'd be pretty antsy waiting for the Blu-ray releases of Le Samourai, The Vanishing (Spoorloos), and Touchez Pas Au Grisbi.

These are my thoughts as well. There are probably about 30 movies that aren't yet on blu that I would consider personal favorites. Once (if) these come to blu, I'd happily take blu-rays over DVDs.

I didn't really start buying a lot of movies until blu-ray. So DVD's can go.

DVD I have already made my Blu-ray collection better than my DVD collection and I am happier with it.

At this point, my DVD collection consists solely of the Buffy Chosen Collection and a couple other random seasons of shows that will probably never come to BD... Soooo, yeah.
