Which would it be? I know a number of people here have large DVD collections in addition to blu-rays. If you had to give up one format or the other, which would you give up?

Not really. There are a ton of titles on DVD that aren't yet available on blu-ray. Despite blu-ray being a superior format in every conceivable way, I'm not sure that I would choose it over DVD simply because there are so many favorites of mine that aren't yet available on blu-ray. I don't buy anything but blu-rays now (unless the movie isn't available on DVD).
This thread isn't intended to rile up those who have gotten rid of all their DVDs; it's an honest question to blu-ray collectors who still have a number of DVDs for various reasons. Sorry if I offended anyone. Last edited by shredking9000; 04-18-2013 at 11:18 PM. |

These are my thoughts as well. There are probably about 30 movies that aren't yet on blu that I would consider personal favorites. Once (if) these come to blu, I'd happily take blu-rays over DVDs.
