Thought I would post here to hopefully cut down some research time wading through all the choices.
My in-laws are sorrowfully behind the times with only a DVD player (that I actually believe is broken). Would like to get them a BD player, so that they could play movies for the kids. Plus, my mother-in-law was asking about how to get Netflix. The catch is that their TV is in a spot where it would be very difficult to get a hardwire internet connection to the box. So, I am trying to narrow down the possibles for a reliable BD player with wifi built in that won't break the bank. (3D capability is not required) Brand is somewhat irrelevant; they do have a newer Samsung plasma TV (not with Smart Hub), so the interconnectivity features (READ: LESS REMOTES) of a Samsung player might be convenient, but price is king here. Ideally looking to stay under $150; under $100 would be even better, but likely unrealistic. Looking to make a list so I can watch for upcoming sales online and in-store. Any rec's are appreciated. Thanks! |
