Exclamation Blu-Ray.com guide to Science Fiction!

Here's something new to try out. Basically, I think it would be fun to try and work out certain levels of film viewing in areas of genre, like this thread is for sci-fi, if this ends up to be a success, lead to other threads like Horror, Comedy, Thriller etc. So how do you guys get involved:

The Rules

1) Post three lists separated into sections of Casual, Experienced and Intermediate based on the level of how easy to understand, enjoy and dissect a film. List any and all sci-fi films into the categorises.

2) They must be able to fit around the genre, don't list a film that you can't justify being in there. However, there are no right and wrongs as to what can count, if you believe something is a science fiction film, then included so long as you can justify the decision.

3) No arguing about where people list what. For example if Inception is listed as someone's Intermediate, don't ridicule them, let them have their decision. The results will be tallied by Average, so the end result should rightfully place a film in the correct place.

4) The deadline for all lists is a month from now (6th December), this doesn't mean no other lists can't be added after this date, but they won't be included until another look through the results occurs. I'm hoping that we'd come to a point where new releases can be added over it's opening weekend, however chances are that might not happen. As it stands, the results should be unveiled shortly after the 6th December.

List Example!

Casual

Robocop
Transformers
E.T: The Extraterrestrial

Intermediate

Inception
Alien
The Matrix

Experienced*

2001: A Space Odyssey
Primer
Brazil
___________________________

Ask any questions. List some genres you'd like to see get the same treatment in future and have fun compiling your lists, it should make for a pretty interesting final result.

You guys can list more than three films by the way, the top list is just a brief example and isn't my proper definitive list.

2001 Intermediate...Even Kubrick himself was hard pressed explaining that one

Easy:
Robocop-agree with that one
Alien&Aliens-What's there to get
The thing (Carpenter)-Philosophy 101

Intermediate:
Total recall-Open to interpretations
Blade runner

Experienced:
2001-If ever a movie was to be called ambiguous
Star wars
[Show spoiler]-Just kidding

Not a huge fan of the genre, but there sure are more brilliant movies in that genre than I listed.

PS:Maybe you missplaced your labels Foggy....

To you maybe, but not to me. All our lists are subjective. A lot of the ones in my Experienced pile are more just weird for the sake of being weird (which could be good or bad).

btw, I might re-arrange and add more titles to my list, so please don't mind the mess.

I'm thinking no, I'd consider those straight-up Greek fantasies, with no lick of science (hard or soft) in them.
