Any demand for Emir Kusterica titles? - Blu-ray Forum

After discovering that there are barely any blu-ray releases of Emir Kusturica's many wonderful films I decided to contact Artificial Eye as they hold (or have previously held) the most licenses for his films in the UK.

Any demand for blu-ray transfers or a box set? This is the message I sent, a box set seems pretty logical to me!

"Hi there,

Was wondering if there’s any plans down the line for some Blu-ray releases of the Emir Kusturica movies you had previously released on DVD with the possibility of some of his other works?

Do You Remember Dolly Bell? (Sjećaš li se Dolly Bell), 1981
When Father Was Away on Business (Otac na službenom putu), 1985
Time of the Gypsies (Dom za vešanje), 1988
Underground (Podzemlje), 1995
Black Cat, White Cat (Crna mačka, beli mačor), 1998
Life Is a Miracle (Život je čudo), 2004

The above would make a wonderful box set, and neatly collect his best work together as it is grossly under-represented on Blu-ray.
Perhaps it would even be possible to extend to titles such as “Arizona Dream”, which had previously been licensed to Momentum in the UK? Highly-regarded movies such as “Time of the Gypsies” (which was not previously released by yourselves) are extremely difficult to track down in the UK. “Promise Me This (Zavet)” from 2007 doesn’t even appear to have received a UK release.

With a plethora of extra material (previously unreleased shorts, TV movies, the 5-hour mini-series version of “Underground”, the documentary “Super 8 Stories”, etc) and the upcoming release of a new movie in 2015, it would tie in quite nicely and make for definitive Emir Kusturica set!

Anyhow, I hope I have not taken up too much of your time, fingers crossed you have some Blu-ray transfers lined up in the near future!"
