I wonder which version it will be. I'm guessing the R-rated.

If you keep up with the thread in the link below, then it's not really all that necessary to start a threat just to inform people of an upcoming release date, it's only when more info is available on said title other than just a release date that it warrants having it's own thread IMO

I'm seldom in the Australia section. It's not so long until it's released. Just under 2 months. Now you can talk about this release in it's own thread.

I would hope it's the official "unrated" version that seemed to be released everywhere EXCEPT America. Not the workprint, of course, but rather the version with the extended opening and finale that was on many of the European DVDs.

But back to the aforementioned workprint, it would be nice if someone actually found those reels and gave them a decent telecine transfer, a la the Blade Runner workprint. Lord knows Hard Target's workprint is probably the most (in)famous of all. Hell, it was the film that introduced me to the term

Hard Target is finally up on JB's website, listed for $12.98.

http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...blu-ray/685126

It will be good if it ends up being in their 2 for $20 promotion.

The blu is on JB Hi-Fi shelves now. Picked up a copy today. Haven't watched it yet though and probably won't until the weekend.

So how's the video quality on this one? Thinking about picking it up. This is a Van Damme film I really enjoy, so would be nice to have especially since it's the "European" version of the film. I recently just watched the film (and this version of it), but it's the old non-anamorphic DVD.

New transfer by Universal. Should be very good.

I just flicked through this last night and man! I forgot just how awesome JCVD was! The pic is great in parts too, with close ups you can just feel the bristles on his chin! And the audio is just fantastic, front-heavy as you'd expect but very engaging. Also I just have to say that John Woo most definitely studied at the feet of Sergio Leone with the incredible cinematography!

I agree. I watched it last Monday when I bought it, and I thought it was a pretty good quality disc, for both P/AQ.

I bought the Aussie Blu-ray last week.

As mentioned in the user reviews, it is the same US unrated version released on DVD, with a running time of 99:30.
