The other day I spoke to Disney Home Entertainment on the phone about when we'll see Resident Evil released here on Blu-ray. After checking her system, she gave me the "There's no plans to release it at this time. That doesn't mean it won't happen" response.
When I asked her what happens with the masters that get sent over from America (Australia asks America to send them OR America tells Australia they're sending them over) she told me it depends if there's a demand for a particular title. So, if they receive many calls and emails from consumers requesting the first Resident Evil to get an Australian Blu-ray release, apparently the marketing manager contacts the main office in America to let them know there's a demand for it. So remember fellow Aussies, it's all about customer demand. Also, she replied about my query regarding the lack of extras on the Blu-ray of Marvel's The Avengers and she said the reason is because they ran out of time when choosing the master. |
