USA Across the Sea of Time (1995) No 3D Blu-ray [IMAX]

I saw this at the Science Centre's IMAX Theater here in L.A. and was awestruck by it. But no release on DVD or Blu in 3D. Actually, never even a regular version on DVD, just VHS.

Default Across the Sea of Time DVD

Hi Bluskies,

Just so you know I have converted the VHS version of this movie onto DVD and it looks superb. If interested in a copy please email me at digestguy1@aol.com.

Thanks,

If anyone is interested, I have an AVCHD high-def (1080i) version on DVD-R of this from an (2D) HD source. PM me.

Would love to see this get a 3-D release as well. Lovely John Barry score!

It's quite good, I saw it in 3D IMAX years ago and still think it's one of the best. I would love to have it on DVD. Here is the summary from IMDB:

A young Russian boy, Thomas Minton, travels to New York as a passenger on a Russian freighter. Close to Ellis Island he gets off and thus starts his journey to America the same way as all immigrants in former times. Thomas is searching for the family of one of his ancestors, who had emigrated decades ago, but once sent a letter home together with a sample of his new profession: 3D-Photography. The boy follows his relative's traces by counter-checking the old 3D-Photographs of New York (using an antique viewer) with the same places and how they look today. This way, the audience gets to see the Big Apple in former times as well as today.

Hi, all, sorry I hadn't noticed there were replies to this because I posted it so long ago.

If anyone is interested, a temporary way to have it in 3D is to pick up the ViewMaster 3-reel pack. It's excellent and you can find it on from a number of sellers on eBay.

Here's a list of the pictures on it
